Popular Demand

Josh is doing really well. Already he doesn't seem as exhausted as he was even three weeks ago and his sleep is the best it's ever been. Doctor visits have been the priority of the week while they regulate his Coumadin dose, he's now taking 5mg nightly in hopes that he'll end up somewhere around a 3.0 on the "blood thinness scale thingy". Josh will continue to see his primary care provider 2-3 times a week for the next three of four weeks to make sure he's maintaining close to a 3.0 after which he'll check in once a month.

My mom is here on an extended visit this weekend. She flew in to the Mac airport Thursday afternoon, in time to help us do some grocery shopping and make cornbread to go with my homemade heart healthy chili. Josh and mom were good sports in eating the chili as were the Carl's who have joined us on our heart healthy adventure - they all seemed to like the chili. Kat on the other hand added just about every condiment available; I can’t blame her I think it needed salt, real onions (instead of onion powder) and maybe some pepperoncinis.

When we took mom to the airport for her return flight the pilot informed us that while the cloud ceiling was high there was frozen fog at lower levels and it was possible that once they got to Redmond that they may not be able to land, so we decided to keep her until Saturday afternoon.

After a few brief visits from some folks Ma hasn’t seen in a while decided to see the new Clint Eastwood film Gran Torino and we have to say it was definitely a ten! Even pushing 80 years old Clint Eastwood is still a phenomenal actor and one heck of a cowboy (even in a city setting).

Thank you for your wonderful comments, we really enjoy reading them and for reminding us[frequently] that we are behind on our blog we'll be updating more frequently as things continue to settle down a bit more.
